At the August 2013 CASL Board Meeting, Mr Bill Caulkins announced his intention to retire effective immediately. Bill had served as CASL's Head Official for over 40 years. The league felt it should honor his years of service to summer league swimming. In a unanimous vote at the October 2013 Board Meeting, CASL renamed its year end championship meet. The new name beginning in 2014 will be " The Bill Caulkins City Meet ".
